Merry Christmas!!!
It's always a fun time to watch babies grow throughout their first year. I enjoy seeing the change, the progression, and getting to know their families more closely. This little ham was just a tiny 1 week old just a year ago and now here he is, all smiles and personality :) We had an extended session for his 1 year photos just recently at the studio. His beautiful Mama and handsome brother joined in for pictures of them all together. Such a sweet threesome they are!!
Mr K had a 1st birthday party theme of Where the Wild Things Are so we continued his theme during his photo shoot. I loved this set! And he clearly did as well, especially the cake part :)
One of my favorite features of the studio is the bathroom that is not only so handy to clean up a freshly frosted baby, but also pretty darn awesome to photograph in:) Bubble bath pictures are a must!
Last week I had the tiniest visitor in my studio for his newborn photos :) Being the younger brother of a past newborn client, he was obviously perfectly prepared for his session and was the sweetest little guy for me. Aside from a quick little one-eyed peek at me, this guy didn't show me his eyeballs for the whole session :)
It was so fun to play with him, BUT it was nothing compared to how precious it was when his big brother showed up! Brother is the cutest 2 year old I've ever laid eyes on and he was so loving and excited about his new baby. It's not common to have a toddler be so compliant with portraits with a new baby but this guy was amazingly perfect :) So, take a peek and enjoy all this cuteness!
This handsome little hunk was the perfect little man for our session! Most of the time 3 month olds share very few smiles at their sessions so when Sawyer wouldn't quite with this wide smile, I was in heaven :) This age is so fun to capture. I adore 3 month olds...still so little but with blossoming personalities. They are just the perfect little chubby blessings :)
I am lucky enough to be 'Auntie' to this sweetie, so photographing him is extra special to me. We accomplished all of these set ups, smiles and variety in about 30 minutes!! He was just so much fun! At this session in particular, my little man (who is only 2 weeks older then his cousin) was hanging out so you will see below that we managed to get a shot of them together. I'm sure they will thoroughly hate us for that when they are older :)
I'm ashamed to admit how old this little darling is already given as I'm just now updating his blog post :) I assume he will forgive me! He was the sweetest little newborn, so calm and relaxed. He must take after his parents who have always been so calm and sweet.
'Home is where your heart is.'
We've all heard this before, but it is never more true when you are at home with your loved ones. This family has put so much work and love into making their home the perfect place for their growing family and photographing them there was the perfect idea. Their home represents such a huge accomplishment and establishment of life and stability!
These baby blue eyes are going to get him into trouble someday and out of it over and and over again :) At the end of our session little man was getting so sleepy :) And then...he discovered grass for the first time in his short 6 months. He was so mesmerized which was so fun to see.
It's spring here finally!! The sun is our evidence!!
'Love is a choice and I will forever and always with everything I am, choose you.'
Recently I spent a day photographing the wedding of a couple who is undoubtably, a perfect match. I've watched so many couples promise forever to one another and I have to say, this couple shared one of the most sincere and honest set of promises to one another. The mild weather, the amazing old grow trees towering above us, the calm and peaceful surroundings; it was all the perfect setting for the beginning of a new life together. Enjoy this sneak peek at some of my favorite moments from their special day!
The amazing wonderment of pregnancy is one of my favorite seasons to capture. It's so wild to me that a woman's body can grow an entire human!! What a miracle!! This session had me tearing up while shooting it and again while going through these images. Not only because it was such a serene and peaceful evening, but also because I get to be 'Auntie' to this little one when he or she makes their appearance next month!! My sister is one of the most kind, tender, loving and passionate people on the planet and she married the most genuine and loving person whom is such a blessing as a Brother to me! I adored that they allowed me to drag them out to the middle of a river and just let me do my thing with them! And since we were literally in the middle of a river, it only seemed appropriate to pay honor the salmon who had lost it's life and decayed to a skeleton right in our setting :)
There is no combination of words I could put on the back of a postcardNo song that I could sing, but I can try for your heart Our dreams, and they are made out of real things Like a, shoebox of photographs With sepia-toned loving Love is the answer, At least for most of the questions in my heart Like why are we here? And where do we go? And how come it's so hard? It's not always easy and Sometimes life can be deceiving I'll tell you one thing, it's always better when we're together
Mmm, it's always better when we're together Yeah, we'll look at the stars when we're together Well, it's always better when we're together Yeah, it's always better when we're together
